How we use expertise

We do not need to know everything ourselves.

We read. We find people who know more than we do. We compare sources, ask questions, build systems, use them, and change them when reality shows us something they missed.

Part of expertise is knowing where your knowledge ends and when a teacher, researcher, clinician, psychologist, lawyer, technician, or another specialist is the appropriate source.

Fans of Learning does not recreate specialist work for the sake of owning it. We want to help people navigate knowledge and expertise more intelligently.
